The Juniper Networks Certified Internet Specialist (JNCIE-SEC) Junos Security certification track is a program that allows participants to demonstrate competence with Juniper Networks technology. Successful candidates demonstrate thorough understanding of Internet technology in general and Juniper Networks J-series routing platforms with Junos Security software in particular.

JNCIE-SEC Exam Information:

At the pinnacle of the Junos Security certification track is the 1-day JNCIE-SEC practical exam. This exam is designed to validate the networking professionals’ ability to deploy, configure, manage and troubleshoot JUNOS-based security platforms. Throughout this 8-hour practical exam, candidates will build a secure enterprise network consisting of multiple firewall devices interconnected via IPSec VPNs. Successful candidates will perform system configuration on all devices, configure secure management capabilities, install complex policies and attack prevention features, HA capabilities, IPS features.

The JNCIE-SEC is valid for two years. Re-certification is achieved by passing the current version of the JNCIP-SEC exam.

Exam topics MAY include:

  • Complex policy implementations, including anti-virus scanning, and URL filtering
  • IPS, IPSec VPNs, including PKI, hub-and-spoke, transparent mode, dynamic, and overlapping address designs;
  • HA
  • Troubleshooting of policy, routing, and IPSec VPNs
  • Traffic management
  • Advanced management configurations
  • VLANs
  • Aggregated Ethernet.

The Juniper Networks Certified Internet Expert (JNCIE-SP)  Service Provider track allows participants to demonstrate competence with Juniper Networks technology. Successful candidates demonstrate thorough understanding of Internet technology in general and Juniper Networks service provider routing and switching platforms.

JNCIE-SP Exam Information:

  • Lab Exam (Hands-on Lab)

  • Exam length: 8 hours
  • Prerequisite certification: JNCIP-SP
  • Recommended Training: Above plus additional training as individually required.

At the pinnacle of the Service Provider Routing and Switching certification track is the 1-day JNCIE-SP Lab Exam. This exam is designed to validate the networking professionals’ ability to implement, troubleshoot and maintain Juniper Networks service provider networks. The 8-hour format of this exam requires that candidates build a service provider network consisting of multiple MX series routers. Successful candidates will perform system configuration on all devices, implement various protocols, policies and VPNs, HA capabilities, and Class of Services on 8 MX Series Ethernet Services Routers.

The JNCIE-SP is valid for two years. Re-certification is achieved by passing the current version of the JNCIP-SP exam.

The Juniper Networks Certified Internet Expert (JNCIE)  certification provides you the opportunity to distinguish yourself among the elite of the networking world. The JNCIE is the highest level of certification in the Juniper Networks Certification Program and is a lab-based exam.

Certification summary:

For individuals wishing to prove highly advanced knowledge of networking and of Juniper Network products. This certification is only available for Enterprise Routing. JNCIEs receive expedited responses on their P1 and P2 case escalations.

Initial requirements:

You must hold a JNCIS certification and pass the Juniper Network Certified Internet Expert (JNCIE) exam ($1400). This JNCIE exam is an 8 hour exam administered at a Juniper Networks testing facility. Training is available but not required.
