JNCIA-FWV exam topics are based on the content of the Configuring Juniper Networks Firewall/IPSec VPN Products instructor-led training course. This exam is NOT a prerequisite for the JNCIS-FWV certification.

The JNCIA-FWV certification is valid for two years. Recertification is achieved by passing the current version of the JNCIA-FWV exam.

The Juniper Networks Certified Internet Specialist  E-series (JNCIS-E) certification track is a multitiered program that allows participants to demonstrate, through a combination of written proficiency exams and hands-on configuration and troubleshooting exams, competence with specific Juniper Networks technology. Successful candidates demonstrate thorough understanding of Internet technology in general and Juniper Networks E-series platforms and operating system in particular.

 The JNCIS-E exam is designed for networking professionals with advanced knowledge of, and experience with, the Juniper Networks E-series platforms. The JNCIS-E exam tests for a wider and deeper level of knowledge than does the JNCIA-E exam. Sources of question content include the E-series platforms documentation set, on the job product experience, as well as the understanding of Internet technologies and design principles considered to be common knowledge at the Specialist level. Passing the JNCIS-E exam is a prerequisite for attempting the JNCIP-E practical exam.

The JNCIS-E certification is valid for two years. Recertification is achieved by passing the current version of the JNCIS-E exam.

JNCIS-E Exam topics include:

Advanced system operation, configuration and troubleshooting, interface configuration, routing protocols (RIP, OSPF, IS-IS, and BGP), MPLS, BRAS, advanced topics including multicast, CoS, advanced policy management, and security.

Note—In cases of identical topics in both the JNCIA-E and JNCIS-E exam, questions are of a more advanced nature on the JNCIS-E exam.

The Juniper Networks Certified Internet Specialist (JNCIS-SEC) Junos Security certification track is a program that allows participants to demonstrate competence with Juniper Networks technology. Successful candidates demonstrate thorough understanding of Internet technology in general and Juniper Networks J-series routing platforms with Junos Security software in particular.

Effective December 17, 2010, there is an updated version of the JN0-331 Juniper Networks Certified Internet Specialist – Security (JNCIS-SEC) exam called the JN0-332 Juniper Networks Certified Internet Specialist – Security (JNCIS-SEC) exam. The JN0-332 became available at Prometric Testing Centers worldwide on December 17, 2010 and is the required exam to earn the JNCIS-SEC certification. The JN0-332 exam includes a question refresh and new content regarding the Unified Threat Management (UTM) including UTM introduction, Anti-Spam Filtering, Anti-Virus Protection, Content Filtering and Web Filtering. The Juniper Networks Certified Internet Specialist (JNCIS-ENT) Service Provider track allows participants to demonstrate competence with Juniper Networks technology. Successful candidates demonstrate thorough understanding of Internet technology in general and Juniper Networks service provider routing and switching platforms.

Effective October 6, 2010, the JN0-343 Juniper Networks Certified Internet Specialist – Enterprise Routing and Switching (JNCIS-343) will become available. The JN0-101 exam (JNCIA-Junos) is a required prerequisite for attaining the JNCIS-ENT credential by passing the JN0-343 exam. . For this prerequisite, acceptable substitutions include: JNCIA-ER, JNCIS-ER, JNCIA-EX, JNCIA-M, and JNCIS-M.

With the release of the JN0-343, the JN0-350 will remain available until December 3, 2010. After December 3, 2010, new or existing candidates certifying initially or re-certifying will be required to take the JN0-343 exam.

The Juniper Networks Certified Internet Specialist (JNCIS)  includes deeper product knowledge, as well as an understanding of Internet technologies and design principles considered to be common knowledge at the Specialist level. Passing the JNCIS written exam is a requirement for attempting the JNCIP-level exam.

For individuals who wish to prove their knowledge of network technology in general and Juniper Network products in particular. There are several tracks to choose from.

Initial requirements:

You must pass the JNCIS exam ($200) for your chosen track. Choose from: Enterprise Routing, Enhanced Services, Firewall/VPN and SSL. Training is availableb ut not required.
